my one and only is one!

Today my one and only nephew is one year old!  I love him so much and he is such a tender-hearted, easy-going little big boy!  He usually is smiling and toddling around with a ball!  I love that we live close to my brother and I will get to watch Caden and Asher (15 months apart) grow up together!  We got to babysit Caden last weekend and of course I couldn’t resist taking some pictures of him!  (And I also couldn’t resist letting him try on his birthday present we got him!  Go Angels!)

foiled again!

So today, I just knew I would get my Easter bunny pictures.  I went to Lakeline mall, which there is no question that this mall is thriving, and a bunny would be there.  I also had all three kids with me, which was an added bonus!  Color coordinating clothes-check!  All set!  Well, when we got there I saw the line and I knew there was no way Asher was waiting in that!  Foiled again!  Grrr…

Oh well, my kids will just have to do with this for now!  (Truth be told, my kids could care less about the bunny, they know he isn’t real and I just like doing it for scrapbooking purposes.)  😉

check out that line!
we went in for a closer look!

*And I’m so glad I did not wait in that line! I was talking to a woman in the elevator who waited an hour and a half and said they ran out of photo paper when they got to her kids and then they had the nerve to tell her she couldn’t even take a picture with her cell phone! She had to just let her kids sit on the bunny’s lap and leave!

**Hey, I still have one more day to get a picture with the Easter bunny, so don’t count me out yet!

Merry Christmas!

Because Rilyn started kindergarten this year, we thought it would be appropriate to do a ‘family report card’  in lieu of a traditional letter.  Enjoy!

college football fashion

We love our college football and are looking forward to it starting this weekend!  Since 2001, my parents have had Aggie football season tickets and we enjoy going to the games.  This year, I’m afraid the only thing I will have to look forward to is the fashion.  (See previous blog post for our preseason ranking.)

Oh, you didn’t know the Ags have a fashion line?  Well, let the modeling begin!

say cheese!

Rilyn knows her mommy loves to take portraits on her actual birthday (part of my OCDness).  But, she got to go to Build-A-Bear next door afterwards so I think she was alright.

u.f.o sighting

this is a swing!

James took the kids to a new park on Saturday morning (before all the rain!) so I could continue to scrapbook our Disney trip.  (Thanks babe!)

Wow, parks are sure changing these days!  James came back with lots of pictures, (seriously James, I’m trying to catch up on my scrapbooking!) of all these crazy looking structures.  He said the park was very cool and I’m looking forward to going this summer!  Here is the link for all my Austin friends-Mueller Lake Park.

happy mother’s day!

First, let me say Happy Mother’s Day to my dear mom!  I love you!

my sister, Jessica, brother, Jeff, my mom, and me!

For an early Mother’s Day/birthday dinner, we ate at The Melting Pot. The dessert was amazing! Dipping brownies and strawberries in chocolate and peanut butter is probably the best taste ever!

look at that chocolate dripping off of my strawberry!  Yum-O!

Here is Ella ‘toasting’, (and obviously she enjoyed the dessert as well!)

From May 2009

The kids all planted some flowers (ok, maybe not Asher…) next to their footprint stone in our front yard for Mother’s Day. How sweet!

From May 2009

The best part of the day was after church when James and Jeff Richardson took all 6 of the kids in one car and brought them home so Jen and I could go out to a leisurely lunch and shop! Wow!!! Thanks guys-that was the best ever!
I told James to take a picture of all 6 kids in the car so I could give him props on the blog!!!

some favorite pictures

I love photography. Maybe one day, I’ll find time to buy a really nice camera and lenses and take some classes. Until then, here is some of my favorite shots of our trip with my little old Sony camera.

From California Vacation April 2009
James took this on The Jungle Cruise
Ella on the Casey Jr. Train
Rilyn on the teacups
Those are Asher’s great grandparents in the backgroundI love the generational ‘gap’ that this picture displays
Not very picturesque, but too funny not to share.  Ella tried to spell her name inspaghetti noodles at one of the restaurants
Ella exhausted on the plane ride home

Needless to say, the girls did not want to go home from our Disneyland vacation.  Rilyn told me, “There is no magic in Texas!  There is only magic at Disneyland!”   Ella wanted to live at our hotel forever.  A great time was had by all and we want to thank my mom and dad from the bottom of our hearts for a ‘magical’ vacation!

easter

We had a great holiday weekend with my family!  First, the girls went to a local church’s egg hunt on Saturday.

Next, their aunt Jessica let them do their own make-up (and hers!)

Then, the kids got to open their Christmas presents Easter baskets from Grandma.
