Melissa Sandvig’s husband
Back in May, I blogged about how I had lunch with Melissa Sandvig (ummm…haven’t heard of her? Top 4 ladies on So You Think You Can Dance!) when we went on our Disney vacation. The reason I met her is because her now *famous* husband is my friend from 2nd grade! So, on our vacation, a bunch of us old friends ate lunch together.

just for fun
Another hobby of mine, (besides scrapbooking), is editing pictures (WOW-those two hobbies work really well together! ;-)) I’ve had a lot of fun over the years…I even won an online contest with one picture. When I first got my editing program in 2005, I did a lot of experimenting (at the expense of my poor daughter!)

I don’t know about you, but when I finished my dentist appointment as a little girl, I got a sticker for a great check-up. We all know that it does take much more these days to keep a child entertained. A sticker just won’t cut it-nope! But a stick-on fake mustache?!? Now there’s a prize worth enduring a dentist appointment for!

When I told Ella, “Say Cheese!” She said, “I’m a BOY!” and obviously made this face. Maybe next time, she will get a necklace like her sister. Sorry Ella.
(Our dentist has a gumball machine full of little prizes in those capsule thingys, and they get a gold coin after their appointment to put in the machine.)

diaper cake divas
Yesterday was my sister-in-law’s (my brother’s wife) baby shower for my nephew, Caden, who will be born next month! I can’t wait to be an aunt! My sister and I wanted to help with the shower and so we made a diaper cake. (I jump at any chance to use my scrapbooking skills!) I think it turned out really cute!

We’ve been blessed over the last 11 years to be a part of our dearest friend’s weddings! Yesterday, James was in our college friend,(and now we go to church with him), Ryan King’s, wedding and it got me thinking of all the wedding parties we’ve been in. We did have a 7 year streak going…but our streak ended in 2008. 2009 wants to make up for that ‘lost year’ so James is in another wedding next month and there is always potential for another one later this year!
My first wedding to be in was 1998 and James was in 2001. Let the streak begin there…

What is even sweeter is that Anna’s parents are our best friends as well. Jen, Anna’s mother, was my college roommate at Texas A&M. And Jeff, Anna’s dad, was James’ good friend at A&M. What a blessing to have friends that we consider like family and they only live 2 minutes away from us (walking distance!) We are so excited to watch our kids grow up together and form lasting bonds! (By the way, 8 of these people in the picture below all live in the same neighborhood now! And together, we have 10.5(one in the womb) kids!)

diving board drama
This weekend we celebrated the Fourth at my parent’s house. The girls love their backyard pool. Well, except for the diving board and slide and the deep end… But, each time we visit they get a little braver. Daddy doesn’t do well with their drama about being scared of the diving board, (I mean they are in life jackets!) so he decided to just start throwing them in!
