whatever happened to seashells?

This past weekend we took my family to the Oasis.  We got there in time for sunset and the view was great.  The food was okay (you can’t beat Pappasitos when it comes to Mexican!)  But what really bothered me was where our waiter chose to seat us…and where my husband’s chair was in view of that (“honey, just keep looking forward”).  I understand the whole mermaid statue idea at a restaurant that is near water…but seriously people, whatever happened to seashell bras?  I cropped many of the pics I took of the sunset because I really didn’t want to see a mermaid’s nipples in the same scenic shot, but here is one pic to warn you to just stay away from the mermaid statue section of the restaurant!

Rock Band

Mandy, James’ sister, sent him a great birthday card.  It said, “Just because your 30 doesn’t mean you still can’t be a teen heart throb!”  Her card was perfect because for his birthday my parents and I got James Rock Band for his Wii.  Now he can live out his dream.  (If you really know James you know I am not kidding.)

not your best look…

Remember the days as a kid when you pressed your face against mesh netting because it felt funny? Well, Ella, you look about as funny as it feels.  Sorry girl, had to post these!

thanks ella

Today I was looking at pictures with Ella on the computer.  She was very good about naming all the people she saw in each picture.  We then came across the first picture I had taken of Asher’s rolls and she said, “That is mommy.”  Thanks Ella.

Here is the picture that she thinks is me.

Round 1

And in this corner we have Stylin Rilyn Paquette ready for a fight at the mere age of 9 days old…

And in this corner we have Asher the Basher Paquette ready to fight at the mere age of 4 days old…

Let the fists fly!  Round 1 begin!

Joking aside, as you can see, Mr. Asher looks a lot like Rilyn and shares many of the same expressions.  I can picture a mini-James running around now!

Complicated

So James is still trying to figure out what is too complicated for Rilyn to understand…he tries, and he wants to always be truthful, but some things are better left for when she is a little older. Example follows:

(Rilyn and James are in the car alone on their way back from a ‘date’.)

Rilyn said to Daddy: “I always want to be at home with mommy and daddy forever.”

Daddy to Rilyn: “You will live in your house for awhile, but then you will grow up and move out on your own.”

R to D: “I don’t want to, I want to stay with you forever.”
D to R: “Rilyn, this isn’t our true home, our true home is heaven. You can’t live forever at home.”

R to D: “I don’t want to go to heaven, I want to go to my home.”

D to R: “Home is yucky compared to heaven.”

R to D: “I’m going to tell mommy to clean my home so it’s not yucky.”

D to R: “Rilyn, you either go to heaven or hell.”

R to D: “I want to go to hell then.”

D to R: “But hell is a bad place where there is lots of booboos, and crying and lots of fire.”

R to D: “I don’t want to go to hell-I want to go home!!!!”

(Rilyn then comes in the house with tear rimmed eyes and I ask James, what happened in the car????)

On a lighter note, Ella told her first knock knock joke the other day, well, it was half a joke but it still made me laugh.

Ella: “Knock, Knock.”

Mommy: “Who’s there?”

Ella: “Baby Jesus!!”

(She proceeds to bust out in laughter) 😉 Oh, I love my girls!

We are thrilled to announce that we are indeed having a baby boy! Asher James Paquette, we can’t wait to meet you!!!!! (Yes, that is James’ face on Fabio’s body.)

So, we’re pretty sure that Asher wants to be an Aggie!

(for those who have trouble understanding ultrasound pics, that is Asher making the gig’em with his thumb.)

Ella’s cheesy smiles

Recently, Ella has been rather unhappy-shall we say ‘temper tantruming’ a lot?  Hopefully this is a phase…although I’ve heard of the ‘terrible twos’ which she will be approaching very soon.  One of our attempts to get her to stop crying is to say, “Ella-smile!!!”  She, in turn, gives us the cheesiest grins and poses ever-they are hilarious!  Enjoy.

TA-DAH!!!!  I’m happy again!
